Tango honey

Performance @ Nychtemere Festival, Geneva (CH) | 2010

This is the second in the series of dances on surfaces.
A couple dances tango over a honey surface.
Spectator sees only the feet on the surface. He hears only the amplified sound of the shoes sticking to the material, rhythmed by the distinct steps of tango.
In the old days, this dance that was used by men as a moment of negotiation in brothels, while dancing the couple whispered in their ears prices and fantasies that will take place later. In this piece, tango is put in relation with honey. Since immemorial times, honey is recognized as a symbol of fertility and abundance, this «golden nectar» that was used to be left in vases in the nuptial chambers and it is an ingredient of numerous aphrodisiac recipes.
